Food is Medicine Produce Fair
The NAACP Albuquerque Branch, in partnership with UNM Hospital Community Engagement, is proud to host the annual Food Is Medicine Produce Fair, a community event focused on health, nutrition, and increasing access to fresh, healthy food for Albuquerque families.
Fresh fruits and vegetables play an important role in supporting overall wellness, helping reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and certain cancers. Yet many families face barriers to accessing affordable produce and healthy food options. This event is designed to help bridge that gap by providing free fresh produce, practical nutrition education, cooking demonstrations, and family-friendly activities in a welcoming community setting.
Families attending the fair will receive free produce sourced from local farms and growers, learn easy and affordable meal ideas, connect with community resources, and enjoy activities for all ages. More than just a food distribution event, the Produce Fair is an opportunity to bring neighbors, organizations, and local partners together to support healthier communities across Albuquerque.
The event will take place on June 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Phil Chacon Park. We invite community members, sponsors, and partners to join us in making this impactful event possible.
